One Light One model ... Never under estimate the lighting effects you can get with a single Bowens light.
This shot was achieved by using one Bowens 500 head with standard reflector and medium grid. The dramatic effect was highlighted by using a low camera angle and using the shadow on the infinity wall.

Look out for our workshop coming soon

How to shoot water in the studio

Water shoot in the studio.
The shot below was taken in Bananastudio on a specially constructed set for the shoot. We achieved the dramatic lighting with 2 direct heads from behind with coloured gels to give a rim light effect.
The front light was with a beauty dish from above pointing down towards the model. The backlighting was needed to record the water drops and splashes. The camera was set on the highest sync speed of 160th of a second at F5.6

The resulting shot captures the colours and splashes of the water and makes for a dramatic shot.

We had a brilliant night exploring the use of projectors and theatre lighting using gobos and gels.
Our Bohomodels for the evening Daria and Helen both came along with great ideas and styling ideas.
We used a standard Epsom projector and used strong graphic shapes to give a 3D feel to the images. The workshop was used to explore lighting from unconventional sources and did not rely on expensive flash equipment to get stunning images.
Look out for future Projection workshops soon.

Our Beginners lighting workshop explored the use of a single light and softbox to see if we could achieve a shot with mood and atmosphere. For this exercise we use an entry level light with standard softbox and talked about the inverse square law and quality of light and direction to achieve texture and modelling to the subject.

Feedback from the evening ...

"Excellent night at Bananastudio Photography  Well done Eric top class Studio Lighting workshop"
